Discovery Elbow System Cemented

LimaCorporate’s Discovery is a prosthesis composed of a humeral component, an ulnar component, and the condyles. It aims to reproduce the anatomy and the biomechanics of the elbow. Both humeral and ulnar components, available in different sizes, are intended to be cemented.

They are manufactured in Ti6Al4V alloy and have a plasma spray coating. The ulnar inserts, as part of the ulnar components, are made of UHMWPE. The design of this prosthesis allows an anatomic varus/valgus movement of the elbow. Moreover, the condyles can be assembled in the joint through a posterior approach. Both humeral and ulnar components have been designed to be bone preserving, with the humeral parts allowing a preservation of the humeral condyles.

In case revision is needed, it is possible to revise the polyethylene ulnar insert only without the need to remove the entire ulnar stem.
